About this event
The Beauty Fools is a recently formed vocal ensemble made up of students from the Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya. Their aim is to perform little-known vocal chamber music from all periods. Today’s programme is an example, and includes Monteverdi madrigals, written in the closing years of the musical Renaissance and constituting the high point of compositions of this nature. Britten’s Sacred and Profane, eight songs composed on medieval texts during the last third of the twentieth century, is a work conceived for a choir of five virtuoso voices. This concert by The Beauty Fools at the Fringe Festival Torroellan de Montgrí is their first appearance in public.
