A master of big band music and a leading figure in music teaching, the saxophonist Ramon Cardo has created a sextet with five colleagues linked like him to the Taller de Músics, all of them with many years as jazz players. Together, they explore the jazz repertoire for sextets, taking hard bop as their starting point. The Ramon Cardo TM Collective performs at the Jazz Festival l'Estartit with a programme of original arrangements of the music of Wayne Shorter, Freddie Hubbard, John Coltrane, Horace Silver and Donald Bird, as well as a series of their own pieces.
