Beethoven: Egmont Overture, Op. 84 / Concerto no. 5 in E flat major for piano and orchestra, “Emperor”, Op. 73 / Symphony no. 3 in E flat major, “Eroica”, Op. 55

Beethoven, the archetype of the Romantic composer, is the star of the closing concert of this 38th Torroella de Montgrí Festival, in a symphonic programme performed by the renowned PKF-Prague Philharmonia. They will perform the composer’s Third Symphony, a precursor of Romanticism, and the Fifth Piano Concerto, a work of exceptional virtuoso character, which blurs the frontier between concerto and symphonic form.
