J. S. Bach: Missa Brevis in G minor, BWV 235 / Motet Lobet den Herrn alle Heiden, BWV 230 / Missa Brevis in F major, BWV 233

In music, a short mass is an abridged form in which either the Credo is omitted or several voices sing parts of the Gloria and the Credo at the same time to shorten their length. However, Bach's so-called ‘short masses’, four written between 1736 and 1739 in Leipzig, are short because they are Lutheran and are constructed only on the Kyrie and the Gloria. The Conductus Ensemble has selected two of these rarely performed short masses for the Torroella Festival.
