The concert begins with the first performance of a work by Catalan composer Rodríguez Picó, and continues with the concerto that features as no. 1 in Beethoven's catalogue. Mozart's influence is clear in this work. It was first played by the composer himself, while Schubert never came to hear a public performance of his Fifth Symphony, the most Viennese of his output.
