Fabio Biondi, violí | Giangiacomo Pinardi, guitarra barroca
Paganini: Sonatas for violin and guitar from the collection Centone di Sonate, nos. 2 in D major, 6 in A major, 7 in F major, 12 in D major and 14 in G major / Sonata concertata in A major for guitar and violin, Op. 61 / Sonata in A minor Op. 3, no. 4
Nicolo Paganini was known as the quintessence of the violin virtuoso, but he was also a gifted guitarist. His chamber works are little known, and many of them are sonatas for the guitar, sometimes accompanied by a violin. In the first of this year’s “singular” concerts at the Torroella Festival, we will hear a selection of these charming sonatas for violin and guitar performed by two virtuoso musicians, violinist Fabio Biondi and guitarist Giangiacomo Pinardi.
