One of Africa's best jazz players, Mulatu Astatke is the father of Ethio jazz, a blend of jazz, Ethiopian ethnic music and Latin music acclaimed by jazz and world music enthusiasts alike. Mulatu Astatke brings to the Jazz Festival l'Estartit his rhythmic, colourful music with which he weaves a modern groove with timeless melodies and combines Western classical music with Latin and Afro funk rhythms. The result is completely intoxicating.
