About this event

Alexandre Tharaud became known to audiences through Michael Haneke’s film Amour (2012), in which he appears as himself. In Torroella he will perform Schubert’s Impromptus, two of which he played in the soundtrack of the film. Tharaud will present us with a musical portrait of the Vienna of the Habsburgs, with the pieces by Schubert, born in Vienna in 1797, and some little-played works by Mozart, who died there in 1791, and Tharaud’s own transcription of the Adagietto from Mahler’s Fifth Symphony, whose composer died in Vienna in 1911.
