George Enescu: Octet for strings in C major, Op. 7 / Dmitri Shostakovich: Two pieces for string octet, Op. 11

The Bambú Ensemble is a chamber ensemble made up of eight young string musicians formed within the Joven Orquesta Nacional de España (JONDE). Their presentation at the Torroella de Montgrí Fringe Festival will include performances of Enescu's Octet for strings in C major, one of the repertoire's greatest string octets, and Two pieces for string octet, Op. 11, a work from Shostakovich's youth and which already showed his great talent as a composer. Together with the Serenata para cuerdas by Javier Martínez Campos, the two works are part of the first album that will be recorded by Bambú Ensemble.
