Eight years after their debut at the Torroella de Montgrí Festival, the Quartet Gerhard returns fully consolidated as one of the most outstanding string quartets of their generation. The String Quartet No. 2 by Robert Gerhard, from whom the ensemble takes its name, heads the programme. It also includes works by Dmitri Shostakovich, a contemporary of Gerhard's and author of one of the most important quartet series of the 20th century, and Claude Debussy, performing the composer's only string quartet, a daring and visionary work.
