The Dutch pianist, Ronald Brautigam, will perform a Beethoven marathon as his first concert in Catalonia using a modern piano. Brautigam is well-known for his performances on period instruments, and in recent years he has made his name as a specialist in the complex world of Beethoven sonatas, having made recordings of great note and performing in major concert halls throughout Europe. Tonight's concert will see this expertise applied to some of Beethoven's favourite sonatas, and the combination should make it one of the most memorable evenings of this year's Festival.
