10pm - James Carter Organ Trio

James Carter is one of the most admired saxophonists of his generation, a tour de force on today’s jazz stage. His gifts include a spectacular sound quality, a powerful technique and a wide knowledge of all styles of jazz that his vision of modernity has updated to the 21st century. He will give the closing concert of the Jazz Festival l'Estartit-Costa Brava using a traditional jazz trio of Hammond organ, saxophone and drums – a concert that includes traditional standards alongside original numbers.

8.30pm - Joan Chamorro presents Joan Mar Sauqué

A former student of the Municipal Music School at Torroella de Montgrí, Joan Mar Sauqué is a trumpeter with a future, with the new, fresh ideas that he will present at the Jazz Festival l'Estartit-Costa Brava. He will be joined by a group of musicians that includes Joan Chamorro, his director in the Sant Andreu Jazz Band. They will perform music recorded on their first disc, Joan Chamorro presenta Joan Mac Sauqué, which includes two original numbers.
